But from the beginning until now the hearing has been closed, giving them no details of the witness's testimony.

She's a woman, and at the start of today's session, she's shown up with strict protective measures like: hiding her identity, changing her voice and not showing any other information.

After the prosecution, the accused and the defence have said their initial words at The Hague in the second week of trial against former KLA leaders, witness interviewing has started.

The interview of the first witness was conducted today in a closed session where the media had no opportunity to hear her word.

The trial, which began three years after the war crimes indictment against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi, has been filed for a long time.

The Specialised Chambers Calendar and the Specialised Kosovo Prosecutor's Office have all set dates when there will be trial during 1923.

In the first week of April, the trial continued three days in a row. On the first day, April 3rd, special prosecutors have presented their accusations and focused on presenting the KLA as well-organised formation, where the General Staff had executive competencies. The next day, April 4th, Thaci's defence has been declared and Thaci himself, the defence of Wessel, Selim's defence and Selimi himself. On 5 April, Krasniqi's defence has been declared, as has he.

From today the witness share of Thaci and others has begun. During this week there are three days of trial, however next week, there will be trial on 17,18, 19, April 20.

In the first week of May, there will be hearings from Monday to Friday for the trial of former KLA commander Peter Shala. In the second week of May, the trial for Thaci and others will continue.

Even in June, there will only be trial against Shala in the first two weeks, and in the second half of the month, sessions for Thaci with his group continue.

In July, there will be sessions for Split Shala and Thaci's group. From July 24th, until August 11th, you will go to summer break.

By autumn, sessions will be held only for Thaci and others, meanwhile from December 18th to March 5th, the court will be on winter break.

Various lawyers believe that the trial against former KLA leaders could last for years, even up to 10 years, due to the volumes and evidence the prosecution and the protection of the accused.

The British newspaper “The Guardian” has dedicated a long text to the judgment of former KLA leaders, saying it will last up to 6 years.

The “trial, which opened two years after men surrendered to the jurisdiction of the court and is expected to last up to six years, now seems certain to rewrite the history of the conflict”, wrote among other things “The Guardian”.

The Court said on March 20th that if the Specialised Prosecutor continues ahead with the estimate of witnesses, then it will take six and a half years just to question her witnesses. Z The SP has so far presented 312 witnesses who will be questioned by it, but also by defence.
