Police in Louisville, Kentucky, have confirmed that at least five people died after shooting guns in town.

Six more people have been injured and sent to local hospitals, including a police official.

Citizens are required to stay away from parts of East Main, Report BBC.

Videos from the area appear to be showing heavily armed police surrounding commercial property in the area.

At a brief news conference, Louisville Police said police officers who had responded to the report of the case had encountered continuous shootings.

The man who did the shooting was dead. Yet, it was not clear what had led to his death.

Various images indicate police presence, broken glass and damaged medical equipment at a location.

FBI agents also arrived at the scene.

On Twitter, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said he was going to the scene.

“Please pray for all families and for the city of Louisville,” He added.
