How did citizens view the row of KEKA bloc A5

Since 19 July last year, Kosovo's A5th bloc A is out of office. As a reason from KEK, it was given to become a capital remont. But this block, the power producer hasn't worked yet.

The Mos-producing Energy from this block, according to Wisar Azem of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), has contributed to the rise of electricity prices for 15 percent for all consumers.

The opposition party led by Lumir Abdixhiku directs the finger towards the executive é consider that “angle” and “capacity” of Albin Kurt's Government have made the energy situation difficult.

”The reason why I have said that increased energy prices may have resulted from the import that has to do with leaving the A5 bloc of Kosovo out of office for 10 months and that Kosovo has had to import electricity at a much more expensive price that could be produced in Kosovo A5. Due to that expensive import now, the price of electricity has to be increased by 15 percent to cover up the losses caused by the import price“, Azemi said in a pronouncement for Gazette Express.

All this situation the LDK defines through a trinomic, Martin Berishaaj, Nagip Krasniqi and the highest in the negative context, according to them, Albin Kurti.

This relates to mismanaging company assets such as KEK, where Prime Minister Kurt has appointed Mr. Nagip Krasniqi, who has been the leader of the Department for Energy in the Vetevendosje Movement. According to him, ZRE is forced to cover up losses caused by the state's demand for import of electricity, meanwhile, import becomes necessary when less is produced and consumers cannot obtain adequate service.

ZRURE: Import growth has affected growth in electricity content

Electricity Regulatory Office ( ZRERE, on 30 March of this year, had decided to change tariffs, meaning raising the electricity price.

And for that, three reasons were given, one of them was the increase in import.

” Limited generation capacity in the country to meet the growing demand obliges Kosovo to buy larger amounts of electricity on the regional and international market” was one of the factors cited by ZRE, where energy prices in international markets and inflation affecting the industry as well.

But import is determinative in the case of Kosovo, as the A5 Block has a capacity of about 200 megawatts of electricity.

ZRE is an independent institution under Kosovo jurisdiction, but on April 4th of this year, Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy (PDK) Blerta Deliu had told Gazeta Express that ZRE energy policies have been constantly co-ordinated with those of the Kurti Government.

Power Discretion for Energy

Under Albin Kurti's direction, the price of electricity has increased twice. In February 2022, energy tariffs were changed in classified form. So consumers who saved over 800 kah a month paid more.

The energy issue had been an ongoing debate in the Kosovo Assembly, as an energy crisis was being discussed in world opinion.
