Bislement this month in Sweden for EU membership application, the sceptical opposition: Integration Depends on Dialogue

From the Bislim office say Kosovo's application for obtaining candidate status for EU membership has received broad support from member states and EU institutions, for what are continued contact with partner states, separately with Sweden, which holds the presidency of the EU Council by June. In contrast, they voiced optimism that there will be positive developments within this year for accepting Kosovo's application for EU membership.

PDK MP Ariana Musliu-Shoshi tells Kosovo that the application for EU membership has only been done for photos on social networks, as reviewing and accepting the app is not possible without the five EU non-recognitional countries towards Kosovo.

She adds that Kosovo institutions have not taken any step forward with either of these five countries, hence they will be classical against accepting Kosovo's application for candidate status for EU membership.

These membership applications are made only for photos on social networks. No membership of our Republic can be done if we have a green light from the states that are with world powers and many of them are friendly states with Kosovo. I appreciate that even for application into the European Union it's the same story as the Council of Europe, as you have five non-recognitional countries of Kosovo independence, you don't have any step you've taken before with either of them and you submit an application, when you know that if you know the five will vote against<1>, she says.

Sceptic for reviewing Kosovo's app this year is also LDK MP, at the same time chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for European Integration, Rzazarta Krasniqi.

She tells Kosovo that Kosovo's integration processes are closely linked to dialogue with Serbia.

“All integration processes are related to the (Brussels) and Ohrid agreement that without implementing that agreement there will be no further steps, such as membership in the European Union and the Council of Europe. We also saw it with visa liberalisation, which now only has to be voted into the European Parliament, and we expect that this process to be completed quickly. But other processes are closely related to the dialogue process”, Krasniqi declares.

On the other hand, European integration connoisseur Dorajet Imer says Kosovo's application for EU membership has been more strategic, to show pro-Western orientation, because, according to him, it is really known that Kosovo's app will not be taken into account for a while.

On 15 December of last year, Kosovo has submitted its membership application to the European Union under the Czech presidency.
