Initially, Haxhiu said the government did well to hold the elections after showing it did not fall prey to the ultimatums of Serbian parties and Belgrade. But he adds that the president has been able to take political steps that could achieve a political solution.
I'm sorry that the presidential institution is not at the level of office in public statements because there is nothing to be praised here but legal terms. It's a conflict between government and president institutions. There could have been a political solution”, he said on the Pressing Show in T7.
He added that at least in the two municipalities, the mayors cannot swear and that the prime minister will be forced to announce new elections in September.
There are two options to counter legality, or legitimacy, as you know. The first is a civic referendum, and the second is that at least in two municipalities one mayor cannot swear unless he has the blessing of the municipal assembly. There is a provision where the prime minister can declare the interim, or extraordinary, state does not know the term safely, to create temporary institutions until the election declaration”, he added.
