The 39-year-old is in prison since January 20th after being charged with sexual assault on a woman at a nightclub in Barcelona on 30 December.
According to the report from foreign media, he has denied wrongdoing by acknowledging that he had relations with his daughter, but according to him it was consensual, since she too wanted to.
The court rejected Alves' request to be released on bail as the investigation continues, saying it is an escape risk. A court date has not been set.
Alves was detained based on evidence collected by the authorities and by the player himself, the alleged victim and witnesses.
Under the Spain's sexual approval law adopted last year, sexual assault includes a wide range of crimes from internet abuse and rape, each with various possible sentences. A rape case may have a maximum sentence of 15 years.
Alves won 42 titles, including three Champions Leagues with Barcelona and two American Cups with Brazil. He played his third World Cup last year in Qatar.
