Aggressions to Trump Three cases of buying silence

Mr. Trump has been charged with 34 criminal acts of counterfeiting business data. Earlier Tuesday, he surrendered to authorities in New York and declared he was innocent of all charges.

Manhattan County Prosecutor Alvin Bragg said during a press conference that his office's historic case against former President Donald Trump aims to “ensure that all are equal before law”, while making the charges known.

Initially, prosecutor Bragg spoke of the case involving a former Trump Tower reporter, who was paid $30,000 after he claimed there was evidence Mr. Trump had a child in an extramarital relationship.

Former employee Dino Saudin was paid the most painted company “National Enquirer” in exchange for signing on permanent rights (the news sold by him) about the president having a child with an employee at “Trump World Tower”, a gradadela owned by Mr Trump near the United Nations.

The prosecutor also mentioned the case of former magazine model “Playboy”, Karen McDougal, who received $150,000 from the firm “American Media Inc.” after claiming he had a 10-month connection with Mr. Trump in the mid-2000s.

The money was to buy news rights from the McDougal actress, but in fact never to be published, a practice known as <x0kap and extermination”, the prosecutor said.

The most painted company <x0National Enquirer” has acknowledged that the payments were made specifically to help MrTrump's presidential campaign.

Prosecutor Bragg said Mr. Trump told “in an experimental way” to lawyer Michael Cohen, who formerly worked for the Trump Organisation to repay the firm “American Media Inc.” with money. Afterward, lawyer Cohen suggested to Mr. Trump that payment should be made by a shell company.

The supposed relations between the McDougal actress and Mr. Trump were kept secret until the release of a letter from the newspaper “Wall Street Journal”, several days before the 2016 elections. Mr. Trump has dismissed her claims.

STORMY DANIELS

The third case includes pornographic film actress Stormy Daniels, who was paid $130,000 in exchange for her silence, reportedly an intimate meeting with Mr. Trump at Nevada Lake Taho in 2006. Trump has dismissed the charges.

Prosecutor Bragg said that 12 days before the elections on November 8, 2016, the Cohen Avoak had sent $130,000 to actress Daniels' lawyer using a shell corporation financed through a Manhattan bank.

The actor of pornographic films, whose real name is Stephanie Cliff, was paid after announcing that she was willing to speak or with the picture “National Enquirer” or on television to confirm her appointment.

In April 2018, Mr. Trump insisted on journalists on the presidential plane “Air Force One” that he was unaware of the payment made for actress Daniels through the lawyer Cohen.

But prosecutor Bragg said on Tuesday, during the press conference, that Mr. Trump restored lawyer Cohen after his victory in 2016 with two sources: a trust carrying the assets of Trump Organisation and his personal bank account.

Former President Donald Trump says Tuesday's court hearing “was shocking to many because there was nothing new, and therefore, without the foundation”. Mr. Trump wrote on the social network while traveling by plane from New York to his residence in Florida.

“Practically, every legal exhibition has indicated that the issue has no basis. There's nothing done on the illegal street”, Mr. Trump wrote.

Mr. Trump's plane arrived in Florida and his convoy headed for his Mar-a-Lago residence where hundreds of supporters are waiting for him. Mr. Trump is expected to speak after arriving at the residence. / VOA
