Accredited Special Lawyer: The odds are that former KLA leaders are protected in freedom or house arrest

The judicial process against former KLA leaders, former President Hashim Thaci, former prime ministers, Jakup Krasniqi and Kadri Veselini, as well as former Kosovo Liberation Army General Staff member Rexhep Selimi, will begin today, according to the Special Court's Prosecutor, are more than 300 witnesses in the case against former KLA leaders. So far, according to the Special Court Prosecutor, there are more than 300 witnesses in the case against former KLA leaders.
But how long and how long the trial process can last, has spoken of Front Online, the accredited Special Lawyer, Artan Cerkeyni.
In his view, judgment may even be reduced.
Only if the court eliminates certain evidence.
Much of a problem with the value of how long this process takes is not known if the defence will present evidence. As the prosecution's evidence is completed, the defence will decide whether to present evidence. If the defence decides to present evidence, then of course the trial will last even longer”, he says.
Kerin says the possibilities that former KLA leaders will be protected in freedom are great.
I believe it's the greatest chance of being protected in freedom or house arrest for the fact that there is no danger of influence in evidence already, because all evidence is in the juro, therefore the likelihood is, but whether that happens or not, I don't know”, he says.
Thaci, Veselin, Krasniqi and Selimi are in custody in The Hague from November 2020, after being charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.
They have been declared innocent of charges weighing on them.
