The 2024 General Genant totals 284.68m euros, which represents the highest value ever for the grant. This record value of the General Grant comes as a direct result of increased revenues in the state budget. There are also increases in the specific Grant for Health and the Special Grant for Education. The 2024 Health Grant has an increase of 16% compared to 2023, or 11.5m euros, while the Grant for Education has grown 18.5%, or 37m euros. The Grant Commission has approved the budget with growth for the Capital Grant by nearly 12% compared to 2023, as well as financing for theatres of 80% or 720000 euros”, the report said.
The office disclosed that the draft was prepared by the Ministry of Finance, Labour and Transfers and would enable municipalities and the central level the regular development of the budget process.
