72 hours of truce in Sudan

The humanitarian truce in Sudan was extended today and will last for three days starting in the middle, according to a statement issued by the Emergency paramilitary Support Force spokesman (RSF). “In response to international, regional and local calls, we declare continuing the humanitarian ceasefire for 72 hours, starting tonight at midnight, [...]
“In response to international, regional and local calls, we declare the continuation of the humanitarian ceasefire for 72 hours, starting tonight at midnight, with the aim of opening humanitarian corridors and facilitating the movement of citizens and residents to meet their needs and reach safe area”, the statement said.
Hundreds of people have been killed and thousands injured by power clashes that erupted between the Sudanese and RSF paramilitary army in mid-April.
