Ymer: Kurt must withdraw the charge of treason against Mustafa's Thaci for “Zieednica” or keep the same charge on himself

Regarding these developments in Ohrid, renowned political analyst Visar Ymeri, in an interview given to Periscope, has said Kurti must withdraw the charge of treason that he committed against Mustafa Thaci because of “Zajednica” or he has to keep the same charge of stigma on himself.

”Prime Minister Kurti, after the meeting in Ohrid and through the meeting in Ohrid, has eventually turned into Kosovo politician like other prime ministers before him. So he has realized that he cannot and does not have to confront Kosovo's Western partners on issues like dialogue with Serbia; he cannot and does not understand politics as warmpromis, but that compromise, especially in dialogue with Serbia, should be understood as value and opportunity; and in the end that the agreements reached must be implemented and that there is no way to deal with them. Kurti in Ohrid has taken over to launch and complete the process of establishing association as an agreement signed earlier by Prime Minister Thaci. Each of Kosovo's prime ministers, who has more or less, went through this process. KM Kurt has to go out and explain why such an agreement in Ohrid has been inevitable, why all those points and proposals have never been taken into account; and explain why he has changed his earlier attitudes and withdraws all that verr or mountain on charges he has made to other leaders because of the same actions he is making today. Ymer stated that he may even change the name Association but that he holds little significance to Kurt's statements, since the association will be implemented under the preliminary agreements of 2013.

Maybe his name's changed. But it will be based on the 2013 agreement because it is founded in law. The statements of KM Kurti and Serbia's president matter less. It determines the form and status of Association, not the statements of daily politics. We've had powerful statements in the dialogue process so far. They have not changed anything essential to the process or to the agreement we heard on Saturday in Ohrid” He said.

According to Ymer, the US's insistence on reaching an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia comes because of the security situation in Europe. Influenced by Russian invasion into Ukraine and that without US involvement, the process of dialogue would not have progressed.

I think that without the involvement of the United States, the dialogue process had not progressed at all. We've had an extension of it since 2011 when it started with occasional successes but with deeper and longer stages. Now, because of the security situation in Europe, violated by the Russian invasion in Ukraine, we have an extraordinary return of US interest in the region and then the EU's more intense. That's positive. The European future for Balkan countries when it is taken and seriously understood and safely, is the largest transformative force of politicians and societies of the Balkan countries. In this direction, and to that end, I see the involvement of the United States especially but also the promotion for intensive dialogue and agreement between Kosovo and Serbia” Ymer's empty.
