In a speech to the nation Thursday afternoon, Vuciq said that “does not yet have a draft of what the European Union wants” in negotiations on normalising Serbia-Kosovo relations.
We have submitted our proposal to the Albanians. We have not yet received anything from Brussels and that document still does not exist”, Vuciq said.
Kurti and Vuciq, with the mediation of EU officials, will meet on Saturday in Ohrid, North Macedonia, to discuss implementing an EU plan to normalise relations between them.
At a meeting in Brussels on February 27th, they accepted in principle the contents of this plan, also known as the Agreement towards normalisation.
EU officials, who mediate dialogue, warned that discussions on the implementation annex are now following.
Vuciq said meeting with Kurtin “will not be any kind of trial day”, but that it will try to do the best “for Serbia”.
“Work to normalise relations with Kosovo, build better relations with the European Union and strongly adhere to our red lines. This does not give up”, Vuciq said.
He added that he has also said at meetings with representatives of the international community.
Recent”Days, we have discussed what is necessary to achieve the normalisation [of relations], which for me does not mean euphemism for the recognition of Kosovo, nor de facto, nor de jure”, Vuciq said.
“As president, I urge citizens to trust their state leadership”, he said. /rel
