Escobar on March 15th began his visit to Serbia, where, besides Vuciqi, she will meet with Serbian Prime Minister Anna Brnabiq.
“I believe in further improvement of relations between Serbia and the US”, Vuciq wrote in his Instagram account.
The visit of the senior American official to Belgrade comes two days before the new round of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, to be held on March 18th in Ohrid, North Macedonia, where the parties will talk about implementing the European proposal.
After Serbia, as Free Europe Radio reports, Escobar is expected to visit Kosovo.
The United States' ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Havenier, said today that the European Union's plan for normalising Kosovo-Serbia relations “is the best agreement available” that will lead to mutual recognition between the two countries.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the Serbian president have not yet signed the proposal, but have agreed there is no need for this document to have further negotiations. /Rel
