Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq said that yesterday he has signed nothing in Ohrid because “Kosovo is not a legally recognised state” with which, according to him, it can sign international agreements. He has said that the red line for Serbia is recognition of Kosovo's independence and Kosovo's membership in the UN, and that only up to those red lines Serbia can work on implementing what has been agreed on.
According to him, the agreement reached “is not difficult”, after saying that “there will be much more difficult things for us in the future”. He read the entire application annex negotiated yesterday.
I have not signed because Serbia is an internationally recognised country and Kosovo is not for me. And I don't want to make international legal agreements with the Republic of Kosovo”, Vuciq said at a news conference.
As Danas reports, Vuciq said red lines for Serbia are recognition of Kosovo as an independent state and Kosovo's membership in the UN.
“I say we will implement most of the things, but I will not apply anything in terms of UN recognition either de facto and de jure of Kosovo”, Vuciq said.
But he mentioned association as part “very important” of the annex.
In the text of the European Proposal Implementation Annex, it has shown how Serbia will be punished if the normalisation of reports with Kosovo is hampered by its guilt.
As Anexi shows, the European Commission, in line with the 25th negotiating framework, at its or 1/3th initiative of member states, could propose not to open or close other chapters of Serbia's EU membership negotiations.
