Von Croamon: We have no interest in creating a second Republika Srpska

Violet Von Cremon, reporting for Kosovo in the European Parliament, expects the March 18th meeting in Ohrid between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, to be concluded with agreements. She also expects to have signatures on the document of the two leaders. “I hope we see signatures. This would be a deal that [...]
“I hope we see signatures. It would be an agreement that would be a huge step forward for both countries, but especially for Kosovo within the framework of European integration”, Von Croamon stressed in an interview in RTK.
She has said that if she were in a position to decide, then “however that would be in favour of this” agreement.
“I have seen the European proposal in February and I believe that especially for Kosovo it is a huge step forward, in the sense of recognition as a sovereign state and in walking before”, has added Von Croamon.
She has said that the agreement concerns not only the proposal but also the complaint. If the amendment is signed, then the agreement is likely to be signed and I believe that it is likely that such a thing will happen at the Ohrid” meeting, it has underlined.
In the question of whether the European plan has the recognition de-facto from Serbia, it has said that “recognition de-facto is about official documents, billboards, passports, diplomas etc.”.
“ ... this also means that Serbia must stop the recognition campaign and Kosovo can apply for membership in all international organisations, and that is very essential for Kosovo. At this point all experts agree that this is a major step for Kosovo”, Eurodepute Von Cromon has been expressed.
As for the possibility of reaching this agreement, Kosovo also gain recognition by the five EU nations, Von Croamon has said that it cannot be said that it will happen, but that according to her, there are no legal obstacles to that.
This is certainly very difficult to say with full conviction. What I've heard from those who have negotiated with both sides is that this is quite possible and at least there is no legal or legal entity in this respect. If Serbia defacto recognises all of Kosovo's documents, then there would be no obstacles for any other country to recognise Kosovo. It's not like I've talked to the relevant governments, but I see it as a huge move”, Von Croamon said.
Speaking of the Association with Serb majority municipalities, she has said the EU will not allow a new “Republika Srpska”.
There are various models in the EU as well and none of them are similar to Republika Srpska because we have no interest in creating a second body like Republika Srpska and that is certain. What we have offered the parties in Kosovo is something that can't lead to any rift or split”, Von Croamon stressed.
It has said it is up to the Government of Kosovo to decide on the model of association, but has said that “is important that this point is not rejected because it is one of the strong macaws” and is part of the 2013 and 2015 Brussels Agreement.
