Vlads: When only Kurti wanted to kill me, he did not react, and now he remembers Ivanovic and Djindjic.

“ish-Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, who was not a fan of Kosovo, was among the few leaders there who did not co-operate with Milosevic”, this is Prime Minister Albin Kurti's response to critics of Djindjic's commemoration on the 20th anniversary of his assassination. Djindjic's time politicians and university professor differ on Kurti's stance, for some commemoration of a politician who wanted partitioning Kosovo is wrong, while others Kurti's stance are calling it a strategy to show President Aleksandar Vuciq as an anti-democratic politician.

Kosovo will be similar in both Bosnia and Herzegovina, where both the Albanian and Serbian communities would have their proportional status and try to jointly define the rule in Kosovo”.

“This system in Serbia would accept it as an asymmetric status, which would be more than the wing of less than independent”

These lines are disconnected from former Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic's long interview given to the Belgrade Voice of America correspondent Fahri Musliu.

The interview was conducted on February 7th 2003, 34 days before Djindjic's assassination at the entrance of the government building.

20 years after the assassination, on Sunday Djindjic was reminded of Albin Kurti, the move for which the prime minister was criticised, and for what he reacted today.

“Zoran Djindjic, who was not Kosovo's benevolent but was among the few leaders there who did not co-operate with Milosevic. He was killed by organised crime exhibits that committed war crimes in Kosovo as well. Now of course, I will be criticized, but my powerful conviction is that at this jubilary anniversary of this political murder and the assassination of half a democracy being born in Serbia has had to be marked”, Kurti said.

While he does not view this stance as malicious, he is strictly opposed to his writing as the man who for over five decades conveyed politics to Serbia.

“Not only Djindjic but also Tadic, who the Europeans later declared Democratic of the Year and neither Vuciqi nor any unfortunately, Serbian politicians so far as to recognise their late history has neither been the democrat, rather have been leaning anti-Kosovo, anti-Albanian”, Mazum Baraliu has said.

Baraliu says that place of commemoration for the person seeking partition of Kosovo must be commemorated victims of the recent war.

A relatively similar attitude includes former politician Azem Vlads, who even draws parallels for Kurt's failure to react to the injury he suffered a few years ago.

The only one of the Kosovo leaders was Albin Kurti, who didn't judge that case six years ago... so I don't even know what it takes, nor does it need protocol to be promoted in the wake of two Serbs' murder. And that for Kosovo, there has been the same position that Kosovo should be part of Serbia and not state”, Vlasi has said.

As for Djindjic's stances on Kosovo, political science professor Nedmedin Spahiu says everyone is aware, which still does not make Kurt's move wrong.

“He should naturally choose to set a concrete example, from those who have a less criminal past even here is Prime Minister Djindjic, who has arrested Milosevic and handed him over to The Hague”, Spahiu has said.

Kurti was also criticised for the anniversary of the assassination of Serbian politician Oliver Ivanovic. To Ivanovic it is an unfinished judicial process, accused of war crimes against Albanians in 1999, as well as serious murder in 2000.
