The Union Association of Foreign Service Members of the Republic of Kosovo (SHSASHJ) has questioned the decision to suspend the working relationship with Albert Prenkaj, currently director of the Department for America.

The Union Association in its response has said such a decision is revengeful and illegal.

“The Union Association considers it part of the revenge campaign by the MPJD management illegally located in MPJD towards career ambassador Mr. Prenkaj, among other things, also because of his participation in the activities of the Union Society, being a member of which activities have been denounced in MPJD, including rulebook No. 01-2022 for Internal Organisation and Systemisation of Jobs at MPJD”, said in response.

The Union Association had organised a peaceful protest before the MPJD target in response to anti-legal actions, and according to them, Prenkaj authorised by the Association's Ecumenical Council, was heading for media on behalf of members of the Foreign Service protesters.

According to the Association, the “direct organisation of the peaceful protest is the right guaranteed with the Constitution and legal acts in force, and it is prohibited from violating the right of union organisation and, more so, to have reactions and persecutions for such activity”. The Union Association has requested from the MPJD management, to stop operations according to them <x2-featurers and criminals”, against them and its members.

“considering the latest action on Amb. Prenkaj, as a continuation of retaliatory actions against members of the Union Association, breaking office, taking the archive and its seal, continuing with persecution of Mr. Agron Maloku, chairman of the Society, and other members of the Association and other protest participants, the Union Association Executive Council called on MPJD management to stop revenge and criminal acts against the Union Association and its members”, said in response.

Also, this association has called to the ombudsman, the State Prosecutor to act because their right to union organisation is being violated at the MPJD management.

“The Union Association called on the Ombudsman, the State Prosecutor to act in the direction of investigating the rights of union organisation violations on the part of the MPJD management and the right to use legal means of members of the foreign service guaranteed with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and the laws at power” are said in response.

US Department Director Albert Prenkaj has been suspended from working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspore decision (MPJD).

He has been suspended from work until making a final decision on the part of the disciplinary Commission.

By then, Prenkajt will be barred from accessing the MPJD object, and any other action that could be “violated/damage evidence” according to the subject initiated against it.

The decision to suspend him has been made against the Pristina Constitutional Court, on March 20th, approved by Alber Prenka's request against the Independent Council of Kosovo Civil Service Supervisor.
