The 20-year-old has been a loud critic of Russian and Belarusian players who are allowed to continue at WTA Tour, and has previously spoken of its disapproval of players who refuse to condemn its Moscow country's invasion.
After securing victory at Austin, Costyuk shook the magistrate's hand but not her opponent.
