The first was he against the former local KLA commander in the Pristina Zone, Salih Mustafa, who ended on December 16th 2022, with the first-year sentence of 26 years in prison for the accused.
Nevenka Tromp, author of Slobodan Milosevic's unfinished trial “book, has given an interview by The Hague for Klan Kosova.
In this interview, Tromp, who worked with the prosecutor's team that has attended and prepared the case against Slobodan Milosevic, says Salih Mustafa was sentenced for a murder that Serb forces committed.
The trial in Salih Mustaf's case was absolutely an important example of how things could go wrong and how judges can make mistakes. Initially, serving such a great sentence, 26 years for several days of war and for crimes which when I read the judgments, I am not convinced that Salih Mustafa could be responsible. For example, for a victim who has been abandoned in a complex where Albanian collaborators have been held and killed by a Serb bullet, by Serbian forces and yet judges say, "All right, Serbs have killed him, but Salih Mustafa is responsible for the murder." These are the things that you Kosovo journalists, the Kosovo intellectual community should react to, and not wait for the second trial, for final judgment on the second degree, at the Court of Appeals, but you must raise your voice and show what really happened, that it happened. You can't let judges and lawyers write your history”, Nevenka Tromp concluded.
