Sweden offers support for Kosovo's membership in Council of Europe

After meeting with Ambassador Westerlund, the head of the Commission for Foreign Affairs, Arberese Hyseni-Kryeziu, at a media conference, said Sweden, which leads with the Council of the European Union, is also working to review Kosovo's application for obtaining EU membership candidate status.
“With Ambassador Westerlund we talked specifically about the integration processes in which Kosovo is going through and what Sweden is doing over the months when it is also leading with the European Union presidency. Of course, it is possible to discuss closely whether with the five non-recognitional countries or other countries involved in the integration processes in which the Republic of Kosovo is involved. You're doing this and you're giving enormous support to our country. We have seen that Sweden has publicly and openly offered support for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe and has also accepted the European Union membership application. Their position here remains a little more closed because of the fact that they are leading with the presidency, not that they are against or have remarks on the matter”, she said.
