Russia's Aleat warns Putin: Don't come visit us, you'll be arrested

Armenia's ruling party has warned that if Russian President Vladimir Putin heads to Armenia, the country will have no choice but to arrest him. The International Criminal Tribunal (ICC) issued a warrant for Putin's arrest earlier this month for alleged war crimes in Ukraine, especially for [the] involvement.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued a warrant for Putin's arrest earlier this month for alleged war crimes in Ukraine, particularly for his alleged involvement in the illegal expulsion of children from Ukraine.

But the JNP does not have the power to implement its orders, and since Russia does not recognise the jurisdiction of the court, most of its implementation will depend on the willingness of other countries to intervene if Putin makes any visits to those countries.

If Putin comes to Armenia, he must be arrested... It is best for Putin to stay in his country”, Gagik Melconyan, deputy of the Armenian National Assembly, is quoted as saying.

If we enter these agreements, then we must fulfill our obligations. Let Russia solve its problems with Ukraine”.

The decision of Armenia's ruling party, which is part of a subx0 collective defence organisation” led by Russia, stands in stark contrast with other Kremlin allies that are not deviate from loyalty to Moscow.

Hungary, which has close ties with Russia, announced it will not implement the tribunal's arrest warrant for Putin last week.

But Armenia is not alone, and other countries are joining plans to arrest Putin. Ireland, Croatia, Austria and Germany have each said they will implement the order.

The decision in Armenia suggests Russia's allies are becoming more willing every day to question Moscow's judgment in the war in Ukraine during a year after the conflict.

Indian officials, meanwhile, have expressed concern about Putin's war in Ukraine, calling against conflict and the use of nuclear weapons in war.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is “kapur also surprised” by Putin's invasion and has been “shocked” by the way he's doing it, according to the American intelligence community.
