Rama in Berlin: Our Target, Balkan Champion Albania in Tourism

Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting in Berlin with representatives of popular tour operators and agencies in Germany, as well as editors and editors of prestigious tourism magazines, in a discussion on Albania's perspective, under regional tourism development, as well as Germany's co-operative role in this direction. During the meeting, [...]
During the meeting, Rama said the Albanian government's 2030 goal is for Albania to be the Balkan champion in tourism.
It's not easy, but we're trying. Hopefully, our objective for 2030 is to be Balkan champions in tourism. Of course, when we say in the Balkans, we are not talking about Greece and Croatia, so we can be clear either to Turkey. But we really want to be champions and outrun other countries. In 2029, we will be net exporters of energy, so we will provide for our own”, he said.
According to Rama, when it comes to foreigners, Albania is the best and most wonderful country, because they are treated as in their home, writes Atish.
The tourism squares are growing everywhere, from every country. Our airport is the first in Europe after the pandemic that was re-established with 123 % last year, which is the official data of the European Air Transport Agency. Hotels are being built day after day, of course we have to do more for high-level tourism. We have started, but we have to do more in luxury tourism, while working hard to do a good analysis of neighboring countries' legislation and making a law that will be much more attractive to investors”, Rama said, adding that over recent years they have increased the measure of protected areas.
We have a huge event in the coming weeks, which concerns the proclamation of our Vjosa River, National Park. It's very, very important as a river to Europe, they say it's the last wild river in Europe. Of course there's the last one left, because the others went back from “tigre” to “mac <x3x4> to serve the European economy, but now Europe requires us to keep the last wild river, and we want to save it. The river can be a huge potential for tourism and we will preserve it. Of course they said we have to invest, but we have to be very careful about what we invest in tourism, because we have to go more and more towards a tourism that is luxury-based and not luxurious in the old style”, Rama added further.
