The Social Democrat Party on March 6th conducted an action ahead of the Kosovo Government's target. This party had placed 205 thousand petition signatures against the Association collected in 2016.
But, the Agency for Information and Privateness has reacted to this action, saying personal data of Kosovo citizens has been revealed.
“The Agency for Information and Privateship urges media/portal subjects, as well as citizens using social networks, to respect the legal framework in force in protecting personal data, that during broadcast or reporting with the news not to publish the personal data of citizens found on the scattered lists, applying the effects of nebulation”, it is said in response.
The agency said lists published by PSD “contain categories of personal citizens' data, which have been collected and processed for a specific purpose (the 2016 presentation against the Serbian Majority Association Agreement)”.
Meanwhile today, the AIP has announced that lists of personal data collected during the 2015 petition, distributed before the Kosovo Government object, have left the Kosovo Police and are located in a safe environment under the supervision of the Kosovo Police.
“The Agency for Information and Privateship is in official communication with the Kosovo Police and based on legal authorisations will take all actions so that these lists with personal data of citizens can be handled according to the pre-priced criteria with Law No. 06/L-082 for the Protection of Personal Data”, the AIP's announcement said.
