Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has arrived at the state villa “Bilana” in Ohrid, North Macedonia, where he will meet with Serbia's president, Alexander Vuciq, Express, reports.

He has been asked by journalists if any positive developments are expected from this meeting and briefly responded to “generally”.

Initially Kurti will hold a meeting with European Union Science Chief Josep Borrell and the EU's special envoy for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak. Later, the joint meeting with the mediators and Vucinqiqi will take place.

Borrell stated yesterday that he has accepted the sides' comments about the EU's implementation proposal for normalisation of relations.

“I hope that Kosovo and Serbia will be able to agree on the final outcome of these talks”, Borrell said on 17 March, following a meeting he held with the president of North Macedonia in Skopje.

There is an annex to implementing an EU proposal for normalising Kosovo-Serbia relations.

Kurti and Vuciq have in principle accepted the EU proposal for normalisation of relations, during a meeting in Brussels on 27 February.

The EU proposal does not force Serbia to recognise Kosovo, but requires both countries to recognise each other's documents, such as passports, diplomas and license plates. It also requires both countries to implement all agreements reached in the dialogue, as well as not to hinder each other from integration processes.

The US has supported the EU proposal, which was formerly known as the Franco-German plan.
