This special emphasis fair has the promotion of Kosovo tourism, as well as to establish stronger co-operation ties with different tourism subjects in the Balkans, but also in Europe.
In the event of the fair's opening, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said Kosovo has tourist potential. According to her, Kosovo's geographical position creates an extraordinary opportunity for tourists.
Osmani initiated the goal is for Kosovo to become part of Europe's tourist packages, and not just the Balkans.
“Tourism contributes significantly to the state's economic growth, as it includes moving people from one country to another with the aim of spending free time in businesses. Today, tourism as a global industry creates numerous jobs and revenue for our citizens ... Some of Kosovo's municipalities have part of their strategic development plans and tourism, this is extremely beneficial not only for municipalities but also for any business and any activity that can be held in the country. Thus Kosovo is presenting an extremely important knot among neighbouring countries. Kosovo has tremendous tourist potential with its natural beauty, and Kosovo is not less beautiful than the many places we visit, there is extraordinary beauty, enough to protect them and promote them as a state... our state of day is being consolidated on a global map of cultural activities that have crossed our borders... But there is still much work to do in the climate of tourism, at this level of tourist destinations, which is among the main goals of Kosovo institutions. We should aim to make Kosovo part of Europe's tourist packages, and not only of the Balkans”, Osmani said.
Osman also mentioned the various cultural festivals that are organised in Kosovo, until he said they have turned Kosovo into invasive, and according to it, changed Kosovo's image.
While Kosovo Tourism Union Chairman Bucky Hoti expressed happiness that international fair of such proportions is being held in Kosovo as well.
Hoti said they are working to get as many tourists as possible to promote Kosovo as much in this form.
Our main goal is to promote Kosovo tourism, promote values, our tradition. We have made remarkable progress, so we need to continue in order to have an increase in the number visiting Kosovo, and this is achieved thanks to the co-operation we should have not only as a community but together with all institutions, but also with international partners who are reasonable and should be here in order for Kosovo to become more involved in the Balkan” package, Hoti said.
Meanwhile, the capital's chairman, Progress Rama, hopes this fair will serve as an opportunity for tourists to explore the best Kosovo offers. He argued that the fair places Pristina in an important capital of world communication.
Rama, while saying that the fair's primary focus is promoting Kosovo tourism, he argued that Kosovo is making a lot of progress in this direction.
This fair puts Pristina in the position where we all aim to have it, thus becoming an important capital of communication not only regional but world communication. We hope that this fair will serve as opportunities for you to explore the best that our country offers, the region and other parts of the Balkans as well. This fair is also evidence of the added importance that the tourism industry has in our region and of the great role it plays in the economic development of our country... The fair's primary focus is promoting Kosovo tourism and we are pleased to see many companies from different countries...15:05. The more visitors we have from different parts of the world, the more we see Kosovo has progressed greatly, Kosovo is advancing”, Rama said.
Rulightim Duka, operator from several hotels in Albania, said such fairs should be organised more often. According to him, they affect the development of a state and also the appeal of foreign tourists.
Such partners must become more often because they are of great help and influence the development of a state, and have a lot of impact on attracting foreign tourists. I have the impression that other times should be even bigger pannaires and with more participants, more tour operators, hotels, tourist associations to give their contributions to grant as much... as the priority”, Duka said.
Even Besnik Gashi, an operator of a tourist agency, said such fairs are important for promoting tourism in the country. The same called on institutions to work harder in this direction.
“This is one of the best opportunities for promoting tourism in Kosovo and I believe Kosovo has great capacities for tourism development. But I recommend to our institutions to do little more for Kosovo tourism”, Gashi said.
In the second edition of the International Tourism Fair, Kosova 2023 (KIFT) is participating in over 200 different tourism companies with over 10 countries.
