Meta, the company that owns social networks, Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp, has announced that it will fire 10,000 employees.
This will be the second time of massive cuts for the technological giant in a few months, after in November 2022, they left work of over 11,000 workers.
Meta Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said realising these cuts would be difficult. In addition to losing 10,000 workers, 5,000 positions will remain open at the company.
Zuckemberg said the company suffered “a wake-up phase” when he noticed the slow-down in revenues.
He cited higher rates of interest in the US, global geopolitical instability, and increasing rules as some of the factors affect Meta.
