The second time the price of energy, besides being unfair, is also too affordable for our citizens. The ruling inability and its inaction against successive crises are costing them”, the LDK's post says.

In addition to the criticism, in view of the government's decisions led by Albin Kurti, in accordance with his promises to them, they posed another question.

“Is this the change the power promised?”, asked by the opposition party.

Otherwise, the Energy Regulatory Office Board at Thursday's meeting has approved the plan to raise electricity prices by 15 percent.

Three members of the board voted for this point, while none of the board members opposed it.

On the other hand, the board's chairman, Ymer Fejzullahu, said that increased energy prices are being made in order to have stable power supplies, as if supply is not done, according to him, costs will be even higher.

According to new electricity tariffs, domestic consumers, who will consume up to 300 kilowatts per hour, will have an increase of 2 euros and 88 cents.

For those who spend 450 kilowatt hours, the increase will be 4 euros and 18 cents. For those who spend 600 kilowatt hours, the increase will be 5 euros and 49 cents. For those who spend 800 kilowatt hours on growth will be 7 euros and 23 cents. For those who spend 1,000 kilowatts per hour, the increase will be 10 euros and 51 cents. For those who spend a thousand and 200 kilowatts per hour, the increase will be 13 euros and 80 cents.

The new tariffs are expected to take effect from April of this year, and the increase will be valid until 31 March 2024.

The ZERE, in February of last year, had approved increased tariffs.

That decision affected domestic and commercial consumers who spent over 800 kilowatts an hour.

This category of consumers was billed with 12.5 cents per kilowatt in the high fee and 5.9 cents per low fee.

Kosovo has the capacity to produce about 800 megawatts per hour, while its needs, in winter days, reach up to 1,300 megawatts per hour. That difference, she imports it from outside.

Otherwise, the Office of the President of Kosovo had received with concern the possibility of increasing the energy price in Kosovo, while he had asked the ZRE to avoid such a decision possibly.

The country's first had recommended that the tariffs not be changed due to high inflation rates and that additional costs of operators be covered through a 75 million-euro EU package.

“Considering the previously mentioned circumstances, Z The PRK recommends that in this extraordinary tax review, the opportunities to avoid raising tariffs by encouraging inter-institute communication and co-ordination, with the aim of ensuring the subsidisation of additional costs that have contributed to the increase of difficulties for regulated operators”.

Until the Kosovo government had suggested that the fees for household remains unchanged, and that they adapt to businesses, especially large ones.
