Islam: Last moment the Valley issue opens in Brussels

Centre for Democracy and Education co-ordinator Agon Islami believes that it is the last moment that the issue of the Presevo Valley Albanians be addressed within Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

Islam considers the agreement discussed between the Kosovo and the Serbian sides at the last meeting in Brussels a good basis for reaching the final agreement.

Islam for Kosovo Press underlined that Serbs in Kosovo should not enjoy exclusive rights until Albanians in the Presevo Valley enjoy even basic rights.

The “Basaza of the agreement should be the Franco-German plan and it is very good and very likely that Prime Minister Kurti's government has acknowledged such a thing, however, should not forget even the Albanians of the Presevo Valley for reciprocity or asymmetry, to seek equal rights for the Serbs in the north of Kosovo.

I appreciate there should be no isolated minority with exclusive rights until the other minority enjoys even basic rights... It is the last moment that the Presevo Valley issue is seriously addressed because after a few years the Valley will not have if this trend of escape continues and it is very important to talk about us the same as being talked about Kosovo Serbs in Brussels”, Islam says.

He said in Kosovo- Serbia is also needed to have representatives from Presevo Valley.

However, he expects the Albanian issue in that part of Serbia will be addressed in Brussels.

The “is very necessary, but let's not forget that Prime Minister Kurti has an adviser from the Presevo Valley, which is constantly with him for dealing with the problems of the Presevo Valley, and that is an even greater reason we believe the Presevo Valley issue will be addressed under dialogue in Brussels because as the platform is the end of the wait.... It is very important that the Presevo Valley issue open as soon as it opens in Brussels”, he stressed.

As a fundamental problem confronting Albanians living in the Valley, the co-ordinator of the Centre for Democracy and Education Valley in Bujanoc considered Agon Islami to be a passive one.

He said this phenomenon is particularly expressed in the Medvedja municipality.

There is a number, especially in the Medvedja municipality, the display of the address is very pronounced that it has enabled them to participate in the population census that took place from October 1st to October 31st last year.
