Yesterday, after meeting with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama in Berlin, Scholz at a joint media conference, has said he expects the European plan for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue to be completed soon and successfully.
“We are dealing with a very weighted proposal of Germany and France and supported by the European Union and the United States of America and found its reflection also in the decisions of the European Council in Brussels. In this context I believe this process will soon be completed successfully... I think great progress has been made, if you look at the public statements of Vucinqiq and Kurti, that is progress. I think this is a plan that can be implemented and must be realised. So I'm happy when we achieve constructive and good results. My feeling is that what was not possible can now be realized. It would be good for the development of the region and Kosovo and Serbia”, he has said.
Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, also gave absolute support to this plan.
“Albania, our government and I personally strongly support the peace plan and normalisation between Kosovo and Serbia. In our view there is an absolutely multi-recilative and realistic plan that brings about the necessary normalisation and many expected that the two sides should deal not only with the maximum seriousness, but also with all necessary courage”, he said.
Strong statements in terms of Kosovo dialogue -Serbia gave up its boss. NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, after meeting in Brussels with Albania's president, Bajram Begaj.
Stoltenberg said he welcomes the constructive approach from Kosovo and Serbia in the dialogue mediated by the European Union, and stressed that it is now a <x0 historical”rast to achieve lasting peace.
“We co-operate with the European Union and welcome meetings in Brussels under dialogue. NATO will continue to strongly support this dialogue because we see it as the only right path to peace and stability in Kosovo. We have a historic opportunity for lasting peace and welcome constructive approach. It is important that both sides prove flexibility and willingness to compromise. Each solution should take into account human rights, good neighbourly and rule of law”, the chief said NATO.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq have met on February 27th in Brussels, where, according to dialogue mediator Josep Borrell, the parties have agreed to the EU's proposal for dialogue, which contains 11 articles.
The next meeting, discussed again on the agreement and its application annex, is expected to be held on March 18th in Ohrid, North Macedonia.
