Moldova, as a state that does not recognise Kosovo's independence, is expected to make a <x0komis” in allowing the entry of Kosovo passports on Moldovan territory.
According to the Moldovan portal, Newsmaker, on June 1st in Moldova's capital, Chisinau, the European Political Community Summit will be held.
Part of that community is Kosovo, which has led some MPs to draft a bill that would provide visa deployment for people with Kosovo passports.
The bill in question was reviewed today in second reading in the Moldovan parliament, and it was decided that Kosovo passport holders could obtain short-term visas for participation in international forums organised by Moldova.
MPs that “launched” on this bill were called to “changing social reality” and freedom of movement which also guarantees the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Meanwhile, it has not yet been discussed whether to hold talks on abolishing visas on Ksovo or even recognition of independence.
We remember that not knowing Kosovo passports has often cost Kosovo citizens.
In 2020, the majority of the League of Nations faced Moldova and Kosovo, a match that did not take place in Moldova after the Kosovo representative did not recognise the passports.
