EU allocates 67.5m euros for energy support in Kosovo

EU support meets the government's energy support scheme, which will immediately start implementing these measures:
1) Direct financial support for more vulnerable and disadvantaged families;
2) Simulating energy savings from family consumers;
3) Support of individual family consumers, including vulnerable consumers through increased energy efficiency of residential units and buildings;
4) House consumers' support, including vulnerable consumers, in investing in household equipment with energy efficiency and renewable energy systems;
5) simulating energy savings from micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
The government of the Republic of Kosovo will continue to support citizens and ease social and economic consequences for the most affected categories by the effects of crises caused by the war in Ukraine, through and a stable and reliable policy in public finance management.
This is the first tranche of money Kosovo receives from the EU package for energy support for the Western Balkans. The package was created by the EU and its member states to help the region overcome the energy crisis and the enormous increase in energy prices that has caused Russia's unwarranted aggression against Ukraine.
