These fees will go into effect from tomorrow and will be valid until March 31st of 2024.

The ZRER has also provided details on how this increase in monthly bills will be reflected.

For consumers who have domestic consumption to 300 kWh, the monthly bill will have an increase of 2 euros and 88 cents. For consumers who consumed up to 450kWh, consumers will have monthly growth of 4 euros and 20 cents. For consumers who consumed up to 600kWh, the monthly increase will be up to 5 euros, while for consumers who consumed up to 800kWh, the monthly increase will be around 7 euros and 23 euro cents”, they have declared by ZRE.

The reason for the increase in tariffs has been cited as a stable power supply and high import costs.

ZEREA Board Chairman Ymer Fejzullahu has said the decision to raise electricity tariffs for about 15 per cent is a minimal increase in ensuring continued electricity for this year and the first three months of next year.

He stressed that if this growth had not occurred, then we would have faced reductions in the current.

This growth is minimal growth to reflect that we have continuous electricity for the whole year, and 3 months of 2024. Consumers who spend up to 350 kw of growth will be up for a month around 3 euros. Consumers who spend more than 600 who will pay about 5 euros and 50 cents.

But actually the board proposal was to have linear growth, so the same for those who spend under and over 800 kw. Those who consume 1,000 kw can spend over 800 kw, the bill will rise for about 10 euros. We could have stopped this growth, but then we would have reductions. So it is imperative that we do not have power cuts”, Fyzulah said.
