The figures let the country's local authorities know as firefighters continue to search through the ruins of the houses of “roboura”.
According to municipal authority, at least 11 houses were occupied by intrettes after landslides in the famous neighbourhood Jorge Teixeira, which was built on the hillside west of the Amazon's largest metropolis.
There's still the possibility that people are gone, so we're still looking until we make sure there's no one under the rubble,” Colonel Orleilso Jimnez Muniz, commander of the State Fire Department, told reporters from the site.
According to him, 74 residents of the area have had to leave their homes. We remember that in February, soil slides caused by record rainfall killed at least 65 people in a coastal region of the state of São Paulo.
In Brazil, 9.5 million people live in areas threatened by floods and landslides.
