For less than a week, fines have been imposed on 149 cases of violations of the Law on Tobacco Control, Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development Minister Faton Peci has said.
He has made it known that from the 16th of this month until today, 683 inspections in the field have been made.
We're just doing our job for which we're mandated. What's making me proud is the culture of civic masses who are expressing it in willing respect of the law. Those who try to break the rules in any way will certainly face the penalty measure that the law has determined. From the 16th to today we have completed 683 inspections from which we have encountered 149 cases of violation of the law, of which cases have followed fines”, Peci said.
Days ago, the Minister of Agriculture has asked the Food and Veterinary Agency for increased activity and sanitation inspectors in the field, as well as rigorous measures for those who fail to implement the Tobacco Control Law, the KP reports.
On the day when citizens see the state's determination to make a rule that is made to preserve their health and lives, they quickly change their behavior and embrace and welcome it. Smokers and non-duhanpira are enjoying the services of our tobacco - free coffees. We will witness our dedication to monitoring the enforcement of the tobacco law with zero tolerance to violators. Moreover, beyond the more obvious citizen awareness, we hope to reflect all those who try not only to downplay our work but also to lower the will of citizens for co-operation”, he said.
