Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq has talked on the phone with Turkey's president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, “about Belgrade's official stances on the eve of continuing dialogue with Kosovo”.

According to the Serbian presidency, they agreed that the most important thing is to preserve peace in the Western Balkans.

On that occasion, co-talkers said that working to strengthen Serbian-Turkish relations would make a strong contribution to regional stability”, the report said.

“Erdogan thanked Vuciqi for the sacrifice of rescue teams from Serbia, which participated in providing aid to residents of the cities affected in Turkey, and for the additional support coming from Serbia”.

They also discussed current global issues.

The call comes after Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, will discuss in Brussels the EU proposal about normalising relations between the two countries on Monday.
