Kurti's conditions have immediately been commented on by Serbia's president, Vuciq. He has named “for” the conditions of Kosovo's prime minister for forming association.
At a session of Serbia's Parliament, during discussions on Kosovo, Vuciq has said that Kurti actually “will not form Association”.
Kosovo's prime minister, during a session of the Kosovo Assembly, has counted the six conditions that must be met for the formation of the Serb majority municipalities' association.
In terms of Kurti's terms has also reacted to the opposition in the Kosovo Assembly, though the prime minister has said opposition leaders have been aware of them.
The agreement on forming the Association of Serb majority municipalities in Kosovo was reached in 2013, within the dialogue for normalising Kosovo-Serbia relations, mediated by the European Union, but it has never been implemented.
The Constitutional Court of Kosovo has agreed, on December 23rd 2015, that the general principles of Association, agreed the same year between Kosovo and Serbia, were not entirely in line with the spirit of the Kosovo Constitution.
The Constitution has said that this association can be formed if they harmonize with the Constitution those principles that are not in harmony with it.
Serbia, on the other hand, insists that the association be formed on the basis of reached agreements.
The United States and the European Union have repeatedly asked the parties to respect all agreements reached, including the one for Association. / REL/
