(3 years ago)After the visit to Kiev, where the American president, Joe Biden, has arrived in Poland, where he is expected to meet with Polish President Andreze Duda on Tuesday. The unprecedented visit to Ukraine was the first since Russia began the conquest of this country nearly a year ago.

Beden met with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, at Mariyinskiy Palace in the centre of the Ukrainian capital on February 20th.
“A year later, Kiev stands at”, Biden said, speaking from a decorated podium with US and Ukraine flags.

He added that the US is preparing a new shipment of “critical equipment” to Ukraine, which, as he said, would include artillery and air surveillance radar ammunition worth $500m. Biden also warned new sanctions against the Russian state.
The United States is one of the largest relief providers for the Ukrainian Army. Since the beginning of the Russian occupation on February 24th of last year, Washington has sent protection and logistics equipment worth tens of billions of dollars. / REL
