President Bashar al-Assad launched a truly ruthless and hateful <x0-attack” in Marea, a city in northwestern Syria affected by the earthquake, said British MP Alicia Kearns, who heads the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Foreign Secretary James Cleverly criticised Assad's regime for “the fully unacceptable remaining”.
Cleverly said: “ [ Mrs. Kearns is absolutely right when she highlighted the totally unacceptable bombings of the areas immediately after this natural disaster.
Unfortunately, this speaks of a long pattern of behaviour by the Assad regime, a regime that we condemn, have sanctioned and will continue to bring sanctions by working with our international friends and partners to test and prevent such behaviors from being displayed. ”
Much of Syria has been destroyed by years of civil war and the controversial control of territories near the border with Turkey.
