It threatens Lajcak: Clearly, you cannot say no to the EU and America

EU envoy for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina Miroslav Lajcak has said that Pristina and Belgrade will have negative consequences if they say "no" European proposal.

In an interview for “Tanjug“, Lajcak says rejection of the proposal would mean refusing to normalise relations and the European road.

Lajcak said the EU and America cannot say no, if that would bring stabilisation, normalisation of relations between the two countries, as well as acceleration on the European road.

The rejection of the proposal would mean rejecting a normalisation of European relations and road, and the US, the international community and the EU would react to that. Right now, I don't want to get into the negative consequences. I think it is clear to all that the EU and America cannot say no, especially if this can bring us stability, normalisation of relations between Serbia and Kosovo, stabilisation of the atmosphere in the Balkans, and an accelerated European path”, Lajcak said.

Asked whether the last meeting was crucial and based on the principle “take it or leave”, Lajcak said he would not want to discuss formalities.

It is important that both sides accept that plan and formally and publicly say that they accept it and then we can discuss all other details, above all implementation of the” plan, Lajcak said.
