TikTok turns out to be the largest data collector, compared to any other social media or message platform, according to a study done by a cybernetic security company, Internet 2.0.
The platform, owned by the Chinese ByteDance company, now numbers about 1 billion active users worldwide. But the platform also has more than twice as many trackers as the source code, compared to the average industry.
TickTok collects data from his users' behaviour to feed “ ” the algorithm responsible for the main feed. But the app also collects data for the Wi-fi network that use SIM cards.
TikTok, followed by Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat in the top ten of 22 major companies collecting more data from their users.
Facebook, on the other hand, was regarded as one of the best at sixteen.
Using Malcore software, the Internet 2.0 gave each app a result based on the amount of personal information collected.
