On the Stvrtok-Poprad highway north of Slovakia, there has been a chain accident involving about 30 cars, Slovak media reports.

Besides that accident, there was a seven-car crash in the opposite direction because of bad weather.

Police announced there are no serious injuries, while the road has closed in both directions in that part of the highway.

The northern part of Slovakia is involved in heavy snowfall. The state of emergency has been declared. Police appealed citizens to travel only in necessary cases.
