He said he fought a military police machine of a Slobodan Milosevic criminal regime, but never against civilians.

I was a warrior who fought for the freedom of my country and my people, nothing more or less”, Shala said.

Furthermore, he added that if it is the aim of this institution to condemn him after he has fought for the freedom of his country and its people, it is okay, but not in this way the ballet and is stained and not in this way, because neither he nor the KLA have fought against civilians and had anything to do with those charges.

I live for 25 years or February saying a quarter of a century in Belgium, a democratic state, a prosecutor's duty where I live is researching, revealing evidence, and seeking justice, in no way make up, to build, in no way. Even where I live is a criminal offence, it's punishable”, Shala said, escorts Kankosova.tv.

Former Kosovo Liberation Army member Peter Shala, who is accused of running an improvised prison when people were allegedly mistreated and one killed at the start of his trial at The Hague, said the charges against him were fabricated.

Prosecutors have filed four counts of war crimes against Shala, including charges of torture and murder. They have argued that Shala has been part of a criminal group that has arrested and mistreated at least 18 people, who considered Serbian spies or collaborators.
