Sergiy Maslichenco appointed new BERZH director in Kosovo

He will lead the Bank's operations from Pristina, where the BiH has invested about 600m euros since the start of its operations in Kosovo in 2012.

In the EURZH media community, Sergiy Maslichenko worked for the BERZH in Kiev, Ukraine, in 2007-2019 in the field of energy efficiency and climate change, managing policy reform and investment projects. In his last two years in this department, he served as director of the Green Fund for Growth board. In the period 2019-2020 served as Ukraine's Deputy Energy and Environment Minister, and later established two climate financing platforms.

Sergiy's return to the EURZH and appointment in Kosovo come at a time when Bank investments in Kosovo are focusing increasingly on green energy and debonding the economy. Last year, 80 per cent of the Bank's annual investments, which totaled 91m euros, were dedicated to green energy, energy efficiency in buildings, credit lines The NVM for investments in energy efficiency and other low-carbon transition projects is followed by Klankosova.tv.

Finally, about a third of Kosovo's total consumption is met by renewable energy, including hydro, wind and solar, and biodiversity.

Sergiy Maslichenko said: “I am very honored to lead the important work of the BERZH in Kosovo a new country with high potential. I look forward to working together with the Government of Kosovo, the business community and civil society to support the country's economic growth, the construction of a green and resident economy and strengthening regional integration and foreign investment. ”

The former BERZH leader in Kosovo, Neil Taylor, who held this position for five years, has moved to a position at the EURZH headquarters in London, focusing on organisational transformation.

The current EURZH strategy for Kosovo, adopted in January 2022, focuses on private sector development, transition to the green economy and strengthening integration and regional cohesion.
