Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, days ago reported to Serbia's Parliament, the Franco-German plan and talks with Kosovo.
Vuciq, at the end of Thursday's session, said Serbia's “is expected very difficult days”.
“We need to talk, seek solutions, swallow, shut down, not risk vital interests, but be open to compromise”, he said.
But in a communiqué that the government of Serbia has published on the official website, Kosovo refers to Republika Kosovo, which has not happened earlier by Serbian officials, or by the Government itself.
“Pica 2: Persistence in forming the Association, which should be the legal and physical framework for the rights of our people and their organisation in the Republic of Kosovo, with the support of Serbia, which no one should prevent”, is said in the communique.
The former Serbian diplomat, Vuk Jeremic, has reacted to this. They are either traitors or ignorant. Or both”, Jeremic wrote on Twitter.
After that response, the communique has been changed on the Government of Serbia page has been changed.
However, Belgrade Forum for Ethnic Relations Chairman Dusan Janjic considers that recognising Kosovo's independence from Serbia could happen within this year.
Serbian analyst Janjic told Euronews Albania that essentially Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has accepted recognition, referring to chapter 4 of talks on the EU membership process.
According to him, with this move, Serbia could join the European Union in the next 10 years.
“Vucciq, essentially said yes and that belongs to negotiating chapter 4. He says the content of the document is classified, but in essence, the outcome of the discussions is recognition of Kosovo's independence. He will no longer treat Kosovo by saying '%sova and Metohia '%, or so-called Republic of Kosovo, but will use the term, the Republic of Kosovo”, Janjic said.
