One of Vladimir Putin's most powerful opponents declared during an interview that the West and NATO countries will inevitably withdraw to a direct military confrontation with Russia.

Chodorkovsky was sentenced to 10 years in prison during Putin's regime after criticising the Kremlin leader. He was released in 2013 thanks to a presidential amnesty and has since lived in Britain.
According to him, the first year of war in Ukraine is just a test, while everything in combat will become serious later. He adds that Putin's regime can keep stability only in war situations.
