They are struggling to take control of the highway heading west from Bakhmu to Chasiv Yar, said Yan Gagin, an assistant of a senior official installed by Russia in eastern Ukraine.
His comments came a day after a Ukrainian Army spokesman said Russian efforts to cut the supply line were back. - Adversification
“Bahmut is now under operational siege, our forces are closing the ring around the city,” said Gagin on state television.
Bakhmut remains one of the main focuss of Russian attacks, including artillery attacks and infantry attacks.
