The competition for new police in northern Kosovo municipalities is not running out.
Although law enforcement agencies were initially limited to posting the contest, video calls were also made to representatives of the rule of law in Kosovo, but their own police officials.
This initiative was joined by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who in the Serbian language called on minorities to apply for the new generation of police.
Even Kurt's video did not work, however, as many police officers were asked did not apply.
Therefore, Minister of Internal Affairs Jedal Svecla stated that this competition will not close until Friday, January 10, as scheduled, but will last until the number is complete.
However, according to former police director Rashit Qalaj, extending the competition indefinitely is not legal.
And not declaring institutions for the number of police contenders, Qalaj says it is being done to protect applicants from Serbia's pressures.
However, according to the former police leader, those who applied are not north of the country.
With more than 500 members of the Serb community collectively ousted from this institution on November 5, 2022, until the Serbian government recently called the resignations temporary.
