Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq on Serbia's Statehood Day, marked on February 15th, with the message that Moscow “highly appreciates Belgrade's balanced foreign policy.
Serbia is an important and reliable partner of Russia. We highly appreciate the balanced foreign policy course Belgrade implements in current complex international circumstances”, Putin said in a message of congratulations sent to Vuciqi by Russian Ambassador Aleksandar Bocan-Kharchenko on Tuesday, February 14th.
He also stressed that Russia supports Serbia's “efforts aimed at protecting the country's territorial integrity and resolving the Kosovo issue”.
On paper, the Russian president voiced his confidence that further development of the Russian-Serbian strategic partnership corresponds fully to the interests of <x0m> brotherly nations”.
Serbia is the only state in Europe that did not impose sanctions on Russia following the invasion of Ukraine on 24 February.
In the latest European Parliament report, Serbia has reportedly respected relevant resolutions at the UN General Assembly, but regrets the fact that Serbia has repeatedly failed to comply with EU restrictive measures against Russia. / REL
