Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged losses in the ranks of the Russian Army while thanking members of the Federal Security Service (FSB) for fighting domestic extremism, as well as working in Russia's occupied territories.
“Unfortunately, there is loss in our ranks”, he said at the start of an FSB meeting. “The leadership of the FSB has to do everything to provide additional support to the families of our fallen friends.
Putin said that “2022 was a special year for the whole country and for your” service.
“FSB units were directly involved in the special military operation, they resolved complex operational tasks, not standards, covering the state border, actively fighting terrorism, organised crime, corruption and extremism,” he confirmed.
In November 2022, General Mark Milley said Russia likely scored more than 100,000 soldiers killed and wounded as a result of the war in Ukraine. /abcnews.al/
