Tens of thousands of citizens, and on their forehead was the baca of Adam. A total of 232 bullets were fired by UNMIK police. Arben Xhedeen and Mon Balaj were killed. The former chief of the first UNMIK pillar had made an investigation that spring, their killings have been unnecessary and inevitable. A week before our demonstrations, you were published the Ahtisaari package. It has never been questionable whether ethnic-based municipalities are worth it. Kosovo needs more democracy. Serbia is panicking. Unfair and fallible, harmful and unacceptable”, Kurti said.
Meanwhile, Kosovo Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca has said Vetevendosje activists are martyrs fallen in defense of the values of freedom, equality, democracy and the self-setment of the Republic.
“Establishing justice and punishing the perpetrators of February 10, 2007 remains our primary requirement. Because, it is said, when injustice laughs at the table, justice weeps behind the gate”.
“Today is the 16th anniversary of the murders of V Movement activists Arben Xheladin and Mon Balaj, from the Romanian UNMIK police. Arben and Moni were martyred in defense of the values of freedom, equality, democracy, and the establishment of the Republic. The years do not ease the pain for these torches of courage, virtuous idealism, and invincible civic activism. Neither the endless wrath of righteousness toward those who committed cruel acts and fled from the place of crime. The establishment of justice and punishment of the perpetrators of February 10th 2007 remains our primary requirement. Because, it is said, when injustice laughs at the table, righteousness weeps behind the gate. Yeah. We were walking straight that day, we're always going straight. Glory to the life and work of the martyrs of democracy, Arben Geedini of Mon Balaj!”, wrote Conjufca after the homage.
The family demanded justice for their murder.
Albanian Xhedeeni, Arben Xheladin's sister seeks justice for her brother until she says that even after 16 years she is still missing.
“Today is the 16th anniversary of Arben, the pain is too great and there are no words to describe this day. We hope for justice, and after 16 years we hope that one day it will come”, she said.
The two activists of the Vetevendosje Movement, Arben Xhedini and Mon Balaj, were killed 16 years ago by the Romanian UNMIK police.
